TravelApp

Simplify travel bookings with instant, secure, and private payment options.

BEFORE BOOKING TRAVELS AND ADDING MY CREDIT CARD NUMBER, I often ended up in indecisive conversations over ‘what if my credit card information is not safe on this app?’, ‘what if they have a data breach and my personal information gets leaked? or ‘booking takes a long time’. With all these dilemmas, booking travels usually ended up being postponed, and eventually when I had to add my credit card details, I had a discomfort in disclosing my bank details and it became a massive headache as I kept checking my bank account for suspicious transactions.

There Must Be Something Out There!

I've been digging around the internet and the App Store, hoping to find a solution for this headache. But, most of what I found either asked for credit card payments, required a PayPal account setup, or simply made the booking process drag on forever.

Embracing the challenge

To solve this myself, I started brainstorming the elements of a safer and efficient online transaction system. How can we make booking in TravelApp smoother for users? What can we do to better manage time when planning trips? How can we improve the online payment experience for users in TravelApp?

I've seen cases where people's details were stored on a website and then accidentally shared! For me, the most significant concern is what happens if there's a breach of privacy and safety?

Nicole’s journey

From here, I could identify the crucial and beneficial actions and features for our travel app with a focus on security and instant booking. I designed a sitemap to ensure a seamless user experience. The goal is to create a user-friendly and secure platform, emphasising simplicity as both aspects are highly valued by our users.

Moving forward,

Designing this app has been a great experience of joy for me. On the last note, a things

  • If I has more time I would have workers more on the logo, make the design more simplified and user friendly

  • Add more features, make it an all inclusive app and provide AI featured customised travel plan

  • Add more accessibility, offline functionalities and social integration

  • There is no alternative for continuous feed back and iterate..iterate..iterate.

  • I wish I could find a better shade of blue to represent a beach/ vacation vibe

  • I wish I had more time to get some more user tests on my iterated version

Ideation

From the data gathered from user interviews, I was able to draw a user persona and focus on her needs. I crafted a user flow that outlined how I envisioned my app unfolding and the kind of experience I wanted for users. This eventually evolved into an experience map, which detailed the user's path and the feelings they experienced at each step while using the app.
